Child Car Seat Law
The Massachusetts Child Passenger Safety law requires children to ride in a federally approved child passenger restraint that is properly fastened and secured until they are 8 years old or 4’9” tall.
- Rear-facing until they are at least 20 pounds and one year old.
- At two years of age it is recommended that you move the child into the forward facing position.
- Booster seats are generally used for children between the ages of 4 and 8 years old and weigh between 40 to 80 pounds.
